Our research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Canterbury (UC), New Zealand, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and multiple PhD students for 2025/2026.

Research Focus:
– Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV)
– Traffic control and signal optimisation
– Navigation and routing strategies
– Operations research
– Big data analytics and machine learning

Eligibility:
– Postdoc: PhD in Transportation Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related fields; strong background in mathematics and programming; strong publication record preferred.

– PhD: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Transportation Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or related fields; research publication experience preferred; TOEFL ≥90 or IELTS ≥6.5 (can be submitted later).

Positions:
– Postdoc: 3-year contract, renewable annually; competitive salary; international collaborations and travel opportunities.

– PhD: 3-year fully funded positions; full scholarship and tuition coverage; international collaborations and travel opportunities.
