What if we say that an Indian city generates ₹300 crore from sewage every year?
Sound unrealistic?
But Nagpur is doing this.
On average, a power plant uses around 80-100 million litres of water every single day to generate electricity.
Instead of tapping fresh water, Nagpur sends treated sewage water to these plants, turning waste into revenue and reducing the burden on natural water sources.
Only 8 buses serve over 4 lakh people in Dimapur, according to a survey by the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
That’s a shocking number.
It is the largest city in Nagaland, yet it struggles with a mobility crisis.

➡ Public transport is almost absent, forcing people to walk or pay high fares.
Chennai is on the path to becoming flood-free.
A city where rain once brought chaos is now using a smarter solution to fix two big problems: flooding and falling groundwater levels.
Inspired by Germany’s rainwater harvesting system, Chennai is building underground catch pits that can store up to 40 lakh litres of rainwater.
These pits help filter the water and send it back into the ground.
In 2022, Germany built over 60,000 such systems.
Now, our Indian city is putting this idea into action on a large scale.
