We are opening a postdoctoral position at the Institute of Highway Engineering (ISAC), RWTH Aachen University, as part of a new project to build a digital twin for road safety, focusing on schoolchildren and other vulnerable road users.

This is a role for someone who wants their work to be visible and make a difference. Whether you are finishing your PhD in 2025 and looking for an ambitious first postdoc, or you are already a postdoc and would like a new start with stronger opportunities, we would be glad to hear from you.

The project combines probabilistic risk modelling, traffic conflict analysis, and GIS-based infrastructure data. You will have the chance to publish internationally, work directly with municipalities and industry, and be part of an international team at one of Europe’s leading technical universities.

The position is full-time for two years, with the possibility of extension. We are especially interested in candidates with backgrounds in transportation safety, risk modelling, infrastructure asset management, or advanced statistical/ML methods.
