Noida is all set to operate an advanced traffic system of ₹227.60 crores at 357 locations. If you have ever been stuck in traffic in Noida, you know how challenging it can be. However, change is on the way with the new advanced traffic system known as the Integrated and Smart Traffic Management System (ISTMS). This system will act as a “third eye,” ensuring wide coverage, enhanced security, and traffic regulation. With the help of this system, authorities will be able to monitor traffic and respond to emergencies in real time, making it easier to prevent accidents. This ISTMS system not only helps in the management but also ensures the safety of everyone, especially women, children and senior citizens. With– real-time video surveillance– traffic control– emergency response systems– public information network. This system will help in: – reducing travel times– ease the congestion– safer roads When this system is in force, the city could become one of the most technologically advanced cities in India when it comes to traffic management. Imagine losing an entire city’s population – just to road accidents India’s roads claim more lives in a decade than the entire population of Chandigarh. This statistic highlights a crisis in road safety, where thousands lose their lives, yet the penalties for reckless driving remain much lighter than those for crimes like murder. The driver faces a ₹2.5 lakh fine and lifetime suspension of their license. But the real cost here?Precious seconds that could mean the difference between life and death for someone fighting to survive. Imagine being the family of that patient. Watching helplessly as the ambulance carrying your loved one gets stuck because of one person’s negligence. Blocking the way of an ambulance isn’t a small mistake; it’s a choice – a choice that reflects a lack of empathy and responsibility.
